What Will You Learn
What a container really is, how Docker is built, the CLI, and running your first container
Package an HTTP service as an image with one foreground process and a configurable port
Build and inspect images, then make them smaller with only the runtime dependencies
Configure containers at runtime, add health checks, and run them more securely
Build containers that run a job and exit, with clear exit codes and repeatable results
Work with running containers and read their logs to understand what happened
Push to private registries with authentication and choose a clear image tagging strategy
Isolated networks, service names instead of IP addresses, and DNS-based load balancing
Named volumes that keep database data safe when containers are recreated
Define a multi-service platform with Compose and manage its configuration and secrets
Scale replicas up and down, restart them safely, and remove failed replicas from traffic
Prerequisites
In order to start this course you must have these skills:
Familiarity with Linux commands, file system navigation, and editing configuration files
